Creating a Path to Customer Success with Adobe

New to the Adobe team but not to Kennedy Events, this former client reached out to us in 2020 for an assist with the immense undertaking of launching a brand new product and program called Adobe Experience Makers: The Skill Exchange. The customer learning program would include multiple shows, beginning in the virtual realm with the goal of future live events. The complexity of coordinating across two dozen time zones was an exciting, yet slightly intimidating challenge for our California-based tech team. The first two events were based in North America, followed by two Australian-based shows with speakers and stage managers spread across India, Australia, Singapore, New Zealand, and Washington, D.C.

Fun Fact: Did you know India and Australia have time zones with only 30-minute increments between zones?!

Keep it Compelling

Our support for the first of many virtual programs spanned platform management, AV and tech support, speaker management, scripting, and building the run of show for two tracks. Along with all the behind-the-scenes bells and whistles, one crucial issue remained: how do we create a compelling format for attendees? The answer, of course, was engagement.

Utilizing Pigeonhole Live, an integrated communication platform providing functions like polling and chats, attendees had the opportunity to participate in polls and were also prompted to ask questions from pre-recorded content that pushed their inquiries to a live feed within the platform.

In subsequent programs, new platform additions like Bizzabo enabled us to provide separate tracks, like “Learn” and “Grow,” to divide customers by their knowledge base and allow them to learn at their own pace. A live master of ceremony was introduced to add a personal element of engagement and provide smooth transitions between segments. Talent managers took on scriptwriting to create a seamless speaker showcase. Creative sound cues added a comical punch to the program; for example, a mention of Beyonce was accompanied by a Queen B sound cue while a short sequence played by a drummer helped to punctuate a joke. Each new show our team produced for Adobe offered an opportunity to improve and advance prior versions; a steady progression towards perfection!

Pick the Right Partners

The level of logistics was incredible and has only increased with each additional training event. Speakers and MCs spanning the globe created sourcing and shipping issues. With successive shows merely weeks apart, ambitious agendas, and heavy technical lifts each step of the way, having the right team in place to execute the vision was invaluable.

KE Technical Director Steve Ratcliff, otherwise known as our Master Conductor, was present on every call to ensure management of the entire production process was primed and polished. Executing events with attendees spread across the globe required his genius and attention to detail. Lavalier mics, ethernet cables, and USB adaptors were shipped around the world (true?) as “go-live” kits for speakers to help ensure they had the right equipment.  Once speakers received these kits, each person had one-on-one tech checks with their respective talent manager to review their audio, lighting, and internet speeds in order to ensure the delivery was technically perfect. Steve’s team of AV pros worked from a remote studio for rehearsals and show days; managing the cues for recorded video, graphics, live feed, and audio.
